The history of Oxford Brookes University began in 1865 as a small School of Art in borrowed teaching rooms. Since then, the university has grown into one of the leading modern centres of higher education in the UK — with a reputation in employability, teaching and research that has brought domestic and international acclaim.

Graduate employability is something that Brookes cares passionately about, with 90% of their students employed or in further study within 15 months of graduating (HESA Graduate Outcomes Survey 2019/20, published in July 2022). Brookes was rated as among the world's top universities across 16 individual subject areas in the QS World University Rankings by Subject in 2022. The academic standards at Brookes have also recently led to being ranked as one of the UK’s top 50 institutions, with the ambition of climbing even further in the years to come.

For more than 50 years, Canterbury Christ Church University has been a major part of the Kent community, providing education making a real and positive difference to people’s lives. The partnership with CCCU is the newest launched by GBS, in 2021. The collaboration saw us launch a new course: BSc (Hons) Business and Tourism Management. The first cohort of students began the course in June 2021 at our new campus in Greenford, West London and in Birmingham and Manchester. We now also offer a BSc (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management with CCCU and look forward to adding more courses as the partnership grows.
