GBS has once again been nominated for the prestigious Higher Education Provider of the Year Award at the Education Awards Midlands 2025 — marking its third consecutive nomination in as many years.
This latest recognition comes on the heels of GBS’s 2024 win in the same category, when it was selected ahead of esteemed Higher Education institutions such as University College Birmingham and the University of Birmingham. The 2025 shortlist places GBS alongside other regional heavyweights including Birmingham City University, Coventry University, and Warwick University.
CEO of GBS, James Kennedy, called the nomination “a powerful endorsement” of the institution’s continued impact across the UK’s Higher Education sector.
“GBS is building something truly special. To be nominated for the third year running is a testament to the life-changing work we’re doing through our student-first approach,” said Mr Kennedy. “We pride ourselves on delivering flexible, supportive, and career-driven education tailored for mature-age students and working professionals. This model is delivering results, and the recognition we’re receiving is proof of that.”
With campuses across Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and London, GBS has established itself as a major force in widening participation to Higher Education for underrepresented and working adult learners. Its growth and success form part of GEDU’s wider mission to transform lives through accessible, global education.
The Education Awards, to be held in July, celebrate the very best in education across 20 categories, shining a light on institutions that demonstrate exceptional innovation, impact, and student outcomes.
GBS’s nomination adds to a growing list of accolades, including being named a finalist at the 2025 EducationInvestor Awards for Higher Education Provider of the Year.
As the sector evolves, GBS continues to lead the way in providing practical, inclusive education that meets the needs of today’s learners.
